With this outfit, you will be the center of attention wherever you go. The dress was designed and created as a final project by a fashion student, a future fashion designer at the end of the 1970s. A rarity and absolutely unique piece.
The fabric was first made from cotton yarn using a knitting machine. Then the skirt and waistcoat combination was sewn and richly decorated with genuine snakeskin.
As an additional decoration, lace from Grandma's sewing box was added to the waistcoat. This lace has unfortunately become a little worn over time, see photos, but this does not detract from the beauty of the whole outfit.
The waistcoat has a small pocket and 2 mother-of-pearl buttons. The snake runs down the back to the front and ends at chest height.
The skirt fastens with press studs and has a 15 cm (5,9 inches) wide snakeskin embellishment at the waist and a tie belt made from the knitted fabric.
The Cris-devi blouse, which was bought at the time and fits perfectly, is included. Of course, you can also wear the 2-piece set with a jumper or T-shirt.
A snakeskin bag was made to match. The new owner of this magnificent piece should refurbish it or at least add a new handle, perhaps a gold chain or use it as a clutch.
The outfit was bough in 1977 for 2500 DM (German Mark), which would be the same as 5850€ (6300$) today.
